Aeonium balsamiferum
100cm, its pleasant strong balsamiferous fragrance in combination with a totally erect growth and its bright yellow inflorescence in July and August above pale green leaves make this species a most decorative Aeonium. Originally it was only growing on Lanzarote where it is almost extinct now, recently it had been planted on Fuerteventura as well. The sap of this species had been used by the ancient tribe of the Guanches living on Lanzarote to conserve their mummies (=name!). Lava fields of Haría, Lanzarote (400m).
