170 (220)cm, Pale-leaf Sunflower is a showy herbaceous perennial with lanceolate leaves on pruplish stems and rich yellow sunflower-like, terminal flowers. This species is native of open spots in dry woods in eastern North America (Quebec to North Dakota, and from Arkansas to Oklahoma). Easily grown in a rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. IX-X.
