150 (200)cm, pendulous bright orange (rarely yellow) flower trumpets with strongly recurved petals, tinged maroon brown inside above an erect growing stem embedded in leaves which are pubescent (=haired) beneath. From rich soils in mountain meadows and open spots in pine forest in Italy, Austria, extending southwards to Greece. For any rich, slightly peaty, well drained soil in full sun. V-VI.
