Sisyrinchium bermudianum L.

Sisyrinchium bermudianum L.
20 (30)cm, glossy bluish-violet, rather large flowers with a yellow throat above grass like, almost evergreen leaves. Native of W USA and Canada. For any rich, stony or sandy, well drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Please note that most nurseries in the US sell this species under the false name S. angustifolium, which is a distinct species (see above). The correct synonym for S. angustifolium is S. bermudiana auct. non. L and not S. bermudianum L. V-VII.
